Before i went for the exhibition, i made a call to Dr. Cheng Haw Chien and told him about my project. So, he asked if i can go to his exhibition and we can talk about it that time.

So, last Sunday, 24 June 2012, i managed to go to the Oriental Art and Culture Association to visit Dr. Cheng Haw Chien 100 Calligraphers' Style Exhibition. It was gorgeous and authentic. I felt amazed that one person can actually produced so many styles. It was marvellous.

In conjunction with his exhibition, a friend of him from Taiwan who is also a very well known Chinese calligrapher was giving a talk on the analysis of Chinese Poem which also include Dr. Cheng's own written poem.

After the talk has ended, i waited for the chance to approach Dr. Cheng. But he was busy, talking with people, taking photos, it was really hard for me to talk to him. While waiting for him, i walked around the place and saw some displayed items in a cupboard. It is actually the tools and materials of Chinese Painting and calligraphy and it is for sale. 

I went back to his exhibition place and i managed to find him there. I waited for him. It was awkward. As soon as he hung up the phone, i approached him and  I told him my purpose and he was willing to help just that at that time he was quite busy. So, i have arranged another meet-up with him and also have emailed to him the interview questions so that he can prepare.

Hopefully, i can meet him next week.:)
