Mr. Yap Poh Sim, currently stays in Klang and works as an art teacher but he is still active in organising his own chinese calligraphy exhibition.

"A distinct characteristic of Yap's works is that the strokes of the words extend beyond the borders of the rice paper, looking as though the edges of the papers have been cut out. Yap's does this by sticking the rice paper to a large piece of cloth so that he can write freely, hence the exhibition's title, Freedom of Ink. “I am trying to use painting methods to manage calligraphy,” said the 38-year-old."

His calligraphy work are very abstract, very expressive and free flow of strokes and they are always outside the border.
